The Inca City Council established the Municipal Council for Democratic Memory this Tuesday, the first body of its kind created in the Balearic Islands. This initiative follows the approval of the Municipal Ordinance on Democratic Memory, which establishes the regulatory framework for promoting public policies of truth, justice, reparation, and guarantees of non-repetition. The inaugural meeting took place on February 24, a date laden with symbolism, coinciding with the anniversary of the execution of former Inca mayor Antoni Mateu Ferrer. The Inca City Council has presented its 2026 budget, totaling €42.6 million, a 2.02% decrease compared to this year's budget. City Hall sources emphasized that this consolidates public finances as a fundamental instrument for continuing to "drive progress, well-being, and modernization of the city."
