Population growth—in practice, a subterfuge to avoid directly addressing immigration—has become the center of the debate because part of the political class specializes in creating new problems instead of providing effective solutions to existing ones. In fact, I'll just remind you that just a month ago, the regional government was exposed when the Civil Society Forum revealed the data from the survey by the same government's Tourism Strategy Agency, which indicated that what really bothers a large part of the citizenry is the number of tourists we have.

In politics, it happens that sometimes even the worst elements say something true, without doing the math. This is what happened with the Vox spokesperson in the Balearic Islands, whose name we will omit because Vox politicians themselves renounce any of their own ideas and always defer to their supreme leader, Santiago Abascal. However, during the general policy debate, this spokesperson managed to tell a truth: "Prohens is Prime Minister thanks to Vox's votes." Sadly, this is the case. This is the first time (and should be the last) that the Balearic Islands have a president conditioned by the demands of a fascist party, who can boast that, if she's in office, it's because they allow her to be. There will be those who suddenly say that Armengol was conditioned by the far left, but this is a fallacy that we must get used to dismantling: there is no political actor in Balearic politics who comes close to anything resembling the far left. Fortunately, it must be added. Therefore, the equivalences between the far right of Vox and a supposed far left represented by MÉS, Podemos, or Sumar are false and would be laughable if they did not contribute to the confusion that, precisely, favors the far right.

The only problem in this case is that Prohens has attributed the poem's authorship to Father Alcover. It's worth noting that the author of this work is Miquel Costa i Llobera.

These were the two axes around which Prime Minister Marga Prohens's speech revolved on the first day of the general policy debate this Tuesday. Prohens's intervention made it clear that the government is currently confident in moving forward with major projects, unless it mends its relationship with Vox. One of the phrases Prohens repeated most often during her speech was: "We said it, we did it." It was heard up to 14 times. And the same number of times she said that the government was making policies "for the local people," referring to migration.
