The fight that took place last Wednesday between several people, which ended with two people arrested and several injured, originated from the sale of hashish. According to the National Police, the fight occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Indalecio Prieto street in Son Gotleu and involved dozens of people carrying large bladed weapons, metal bars, clubs, knives, and others.

The 22-year-old man stabbed by his father in Palma remains in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Son Espases University Hospital. According to information provided by the SAMU (Emergency Medical Service), the incident occurred late Tuesday in Orson Welles Square in Son Gotleu. During the altercation, the young man suffered a stab wound to the abdomen and was treated by an Advanced Life Support ambulance before being transferred to Son Espases University Hospital after being stabilized. The alleged assailant also sustained multiple contusions, was treated by paramedics, and taken to a hospital. Agents from the Family and Women's Unit (UFAM) of the National Police have taken charge of the search, and initial investigations suggest that the attack occurred after the young man and his sister, who was also injured, attempted to confront the man during an argument between him and his partner.

Three people were injured in a fire that broke out Thursday afternoon in a six-story building in the Son Gotleu neighborhood. Emergency services responded at 5:10 p.m., after receiving a report of a fire in an apartment building on Pic d'Aneto passage, according to a statement from SAMU 061. An advanced life support ambulance, three basic life support ambulances, a Delta vehicle, and a logistics vehicle were dispatched to the scene, as it was suspected to be a multiple-casualty incident. After arriving and assessing the situation, they were briefed on the situation and ultimately treated three adults. Two people, a 32-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man, were treated and urgently transported to Son Llàtzer Hospital for smoke inhalation. On the other hand, the third victim is a 61-year-old woman who has been assisted in situ due to an anxiety attack.

The Ministry of Education and Universities will increase the presence of psychologists in secondary schools in the Son Gotleu neighborhood of Palma this academic year. Minister Antoni Vera announced this measure on Monday after chairing the meeting of the Son Gotleu Educational Plan committee for the 2025-2026 academic year. During the meeting, participants outlined the needs of the neighborhood's schools. Vera stated that the Ministry will increase support for schools in the area and that, starting this 2025-2026 academic year, psychological support will be strengthened with the addition of more general health psychologists to the public secondary schools. The main objective is to reduce school dropout rates. Additionally, the intervention of staff from the Comprehensive School Safety Plan (PISE) will be expanded at the Joan Capó and Es Pont schools to address current needs. The meeting also addressed the neighborhood's issues of coexistence. The regional minister insisted that the priority is to guarantee safe educational spaces both inside and outside of schools.

The joint operation between the National Police and the Palma Local Police carried out last Thursday in Son Gotleu resulted in three arrests, 70 people identified, and 64 fines. Around 7:30 p.m., dozens of officers deployed to an area where several incidents had recently occurred and inspected two establishments and several vehicles. According to the police, in one of the inspected establishments, a man was arrested after being found with 16 packets of heroin hidden under a cap and in his trousers, as well as cash. In another establishment, a man was arrested who, upon noticing the police presence, went to the bathroom to try to dispose of nine bags of cocaine. The third person arrested was a man with a restraining order against his partner, with whom he was inside a bar.

A woman and her three children were evicted this Friday from a home in Son Gotleu, according to the Palma Housing Union. The eviction, scheduled for 8:30 a.m., took place this morning at number 76 Calle Tomás Rullán, where several people gathered to try to stop it, but without success.
