The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has once again activated a yellow alert for fog in the Balearic Islands, affecting practically the entire archipelago except for Ibiza and Formentera. On Wednesday, a flight from Barcelona scheduled to land in Ibiza had to return to Barcelona due to the fog. According to information provided by Aena, this was the only incident recorded at Balearic airports on Wednesday due to fog.

Palma Airport is experiencing numerous delays due to fog, according to information provided by Aena. After 8 p.m., 16 departing and 16 arriving flights were delayed, and around 6 p.m., this number had risen to 31 arrivals and 9 departures. The airports of Menorca and Ibiza did not register any delays. So far, no flights have been canceled for these reasons. It should be noted that the Balearic Islands Emergency Service (112) activated a yellow alert for fog in Mallorca this Monday. The activation, as reported by the Emergency Service on its social media account, triggers the zero severity level (IG-0) of the Meteobal Plan.

The fog that enveloped Mallorca in the early hours of Tuesday morning caused widespread delays at the airport, which, among other incidents, caused several members of parliament to arrive late to the Parliamentary plenary session.
