The Tramontana Mountain Range has added a new specimen of black vulture (Aegypius monachus) in recent days. The chick was born on April 18th in a nest that is part of the Fundació Vida Silvestre's monitoring system, a fact that allows for live observation of the entire breeding process and detailed knowledge of the evolution of this emblematic species.

Births in the Balearic Islands fell by 4.66% between January and August 2025 compared to the same period last year, to 5,667 births, according to data released Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
