She will be joined by Miquel Àngel Sureda, a councilor in the Pollença City Council, as president of Esquerra in Mallorca. This weekend, Esquerra Republicana held its territorial congresses at its headquarters in Manacor to elect a new political leadership. Mateu Xurí, president of the party in the Balearic Islands for the past several years, had already announced that he would not run again due to the renewal of his position, although he remains involved in the project as part of the new executive committee. The candidacy, led by Carme Gomila, received clear support from the membership, according to party sources. The councilwoman from Manacor City Council expressed her gratitude for the work done and her commitment to "continue the party's political action," working to strengthen the pro-independence projects of MÉS per Mallorca, Més per Menorca, and ARA Eivissa, of which Esquerra Republicana is an integral part.
