The measure will be ratified at an extraordinary plenary session next Tuesday and will affect Playa de la Bossa, Figueretes, Vivero, Marina, Prat de Vila, Dalt Vila, and Talamanca. According to Mayor Rafael Triguero, the initiative is based on Article 77 of the Balearic Tourism Law, modified by Decree Law 4/2025, which allows for the declaration of certain areas as saturated to facilitate the modernization and reorganization of the tourism sector. The Councilor for Tourism, Rubén Sousa, stated that the declaration will not lead to more hotel rooms, but rather seeks to "improve the quality of the existing offerings" and expedite procedures for renovation projects. The planned projects include the modernization of the Bossa beach promenade, the pedestrian connection between Figueretes and Viver, and the renovation of Pere Matutes Noguera Avenue. Public investment is expected to accompany the renovations.
