It is not endemic, although more than one might think so. It is the Twitter lion: a fierce beast that, from the comfort of the keyboard, dictates judgment on the future of Catalan, distributes good Mallorcan credentials, accuses everyone of being a traitor, and announces, thread after thread, the national apocalypse.The most surprising thing is that this beast undergoes an instantaneous metamorphosis as soon as it leaves the networks. On the street it stops roaring and becomes a docile kitten. It avoids any real conflict, assumes no commitment, and, above all, doesn't lift a finger to make things change.You already know who I'm talking about. Those who idealize Pedro Sánchez's government while accusing MÉS of being too moderate; those who attack STEI, but then join other unions for free courses or benefits; those who demand from GOB and Obra Cultural Balear a firmness that they themselves are not willing to uphold, not even by paying the membership fee; or those who turn the defense of the language into a moral flag, but, when it comes time to decide their children's school, prefer a subsidized school in Spanish rather than go to a public one and share a classroom with children of immigrant origin and humble families.On networks they are inflexible revolutionaries; in real life, simple spectators.And make no mistake, I'm not speaking from any moral superiority. I don't believe in impeccable people or vestal virgins. We all live with contradictions, and that's probably healthy. I always say that whoever doesn't have at least five, runs the risk of becoming a dogmatist. The problem isn't contradictions: the problem is using them as an excuse not to assume any responsibility. Because, in politics, actions —and omissions too— have consequences.And from here arises another attitude that worries me even more: defeatism.Yes, yes, I know, there are reasons to worry: Catalan is spoken less and less in our country and it is evident that Mallorca is undergoing an accelerated process of transformation caused by tourism.Faced with this situation, what do we do? Those of us who still care about public affairs only have two options. The first is to resign ourselves: to turn powerlessness into a political identity, to idealize a past that will not return, and to let the usual suspects continue to decide Mallorca's future. The second is more difficult, but also more fruitful: to accept reality in order to transform it. Without pretense, but also without defeatism. Because any crisis opens a crack for change. A society that asks questions is a society that has not yet given up. And if today more and more Mallorcans are asking themselves what it means to be from here, what kind of country they want to build, and who decides our economic model, it is because old certainties have shattered. Great political projects are born not from easy answers, but from uncomfortable questions.However, answering these questions requires shedding some myths. The first is thinking that Majorcanism can find allies among the economic elites who have enriched themselves thanks to the model that has brought us here, even if they have eight Majorcan surnames. The second is believing that sharing a language is more important than sharing a project. A Catalan speaker who votes for Vox is not necessarily a greater ally of Majorcanism than someone who, wherever they come from and whatever language they speak, shares a banner at the demonstration.Let's be clear: the nation will not be saved by those who live off its exploitation. Our allies are others. They are all those people who, from different realities, are left out of the Spain of privilege: those who defend the language and the territory, those who fight for housing, against precariousness, for public services and labor rights, feminism and LGTBI movements. These are struggles that too often advance separately, as if they were independent conflicts, when in reality they share the same root. Precisely here lies the great opportunity of Majorcanism: it is the only political space with enough cohesion and coherence to articulate this dispersed discontent into a shared project.It is what Mateu Morro summarizes with an expression as simple as it is powerful: “to fight all battles and raise all flags”. Do not misunderstand it. It is not about appropriating all claims or making Majorcanism the standard-bearer of any cause. It is about understanding that many of the struggles of our time share a common root and, therefore, can share a horizon.This also means not leaving any struggle behind. In the case of language, the challenge is particularly demanding: it is necessary to convince the rest of the transformative movements that linguistic rights are not an identity claim or an elitist privilege, but a matter of democracy and equality, as legitimate as the defense of housing, labor rights, feminism, and the protection of the territory.This is the historical responsibility of political Mallorquinism: to articulate all struggles within a project of national reconstruction, in the deepest sense of the term. This means assuming as a priority objective to cohere island society, strengthen its self-esteem and turn it into a political subject aware of its interests. Only in this way will Mallorquinism cease to be perceived as a movement that only defends a language to definitively become a movement that defends a country.So now you know. Get off Twitter. There is a future to build.

Surprised by the outage of ChatGPT and X for hours. A massive failure in the infrastructure of Cloudflare, one of the leading internet network and security providers, caused a widespread shutdown affecting thousands of users worldwide. Among the most affected services were ChatGPT, the social network X, and various digital platforms that also rely on Cloudflare to manage traffic and protect themselves from attacks. According to Cloudflare, the incident originated from an "unusual traffic spike" that triggered internal errors in its global network, resulting in the inability to access services hosted or protected by the system. OpenAI, for its part, confirmed that ChatGPT was experiencing "high error rates" and that its websites and services were partially inoperative. The company attributed the outage to the external failure and indicated that it is working with Cloudflare to restore normal service. The incident had a widespread impact, as Cloudflare is a key element in the operation of a significant portion of global internet traffic. Platforms like X, as well as other everyday digital services, experienced outages or intermittent service while the company deployed a solution. After a few hours, Cloudflare reported that the service was beginning to recover and that error rates would gradually decrease, although some users would continue to experience anomalies. Investigations to determine the exact cause of the traffic spike and prevent future incidents are ongoing.
