The plenary session of the Constitutional Court (TC) has postponed its ruling on the appeal for protection filed by socialist deputies Mercedes Garrido and Pilar Costa following their expulsion from the plenary session of the Parliament on June 18, 2024, the session in which the President of the Chamber, Gabriel Le Senne, tore up a photograph of Aurora Picornell.

The Memòria de Mallorca association applauds, one day after the Constitutional Court's ruling overturning the repeal of the Democratic Memory Law approved by the PP and Vox, that the Government has made public 20 research studies prepared within the framework of the IV Plan of Pits on the victims of repression, the Civil War and the search for disappeared persons.

The Balearic PP is indifferent to the suspension of the repeal of the Law of Democratic Memory by the Constitutional Court (TC). Sources from the parliamentary group have recalled that the PP voted in favor of the repeal to please Vox in exchange for its support for the 2025 budgets. "We always stated the same, that for us the repeal was not a priority and that it was also covered by state law," assures the party: "The PP fulfilled its agreements, and from here on out, no problem that the repeal has been suspended until the TC definitively rules on it".

The Constitutional Court stops the repeal of the Democratic Memory Law approved by Prohens' Government with Vox. It should be noted that the repeal of the norm in question was the first legislative initiative promoted by Vox that moved forward in almost three years of pact with the PP.

The full Constitutional Court (TC) has dismissed the appeal of unconstitutionality filed by the Balearic Government against certain articles of the State Housing Law. In a ruling, to which Europa Press had access, the TC declared the appeal filed by the Governing Council moot because the challenged provisions had already been resolved in other rulings. Specifically, this stemmed from appeals filed by the Andalusian Regional Government and more than fifty members of the People's Party (PP) in the Congress of Deputies. Some of the issues raised were declared unconstitutional or void, while others were dismissed. According to constitutional doctrine, the removal of these provisions from the legal system results in the appeal becoming moot, since the jurisdictional disputes raised by the Balearic Islands are very similar to those already resolved.
