Staff at Palma's Citizen Service Offices (OAC) and the 010 Telephone Information Service went on strike this Monday after negotiations with the City Council, which had been ongoing for over a year, broke down. The workers are demanding improvements in both service quality and working conditions. The strike saw massive participation, and workers also held a demonstration in Plaça de Santa Eulàlia, in front of City Hall. According to a member of the staff committee, which includes all the unions in the area, the strike was very well-attended and affected virtually all offices. All the OACs closed, except for the one in Plaça de Santa Eulàlia, which kept about four employees on duty until 12:45 pm, when it had to close due to the large number of people queuing.
