The Government has finished the work of the V Grave Plan carried out this year in Son Servera, an action that has allowed for the location in the municipal cemetery of at least two burials that present signs compatible with people murdered during the Civil War.

The excavations being carried out at the municipal cemetery of Son Servera have made it possible to locate the remains of two men who all indications suggest were soldiers of the Republican expedition commanded by Captain Alberto Bayo. Although anthropological and genetic studies will still need to be completed, the objects and materials found associated with the bodies suggest that they were two soldiers of a certain rank who participated in the landing in Mallorca during the first weeks of the Civil War. The remains of the uniforms allow us to advance that one of the two men was a military medic.

The Balearic Government has documented the first human remains in the first excavation of the Fifth Plan for Mass Graves at the Les Figueretes cemetery in Ibiza, which began on November 18th. The work, led by the Aranzadi-ATICS team and comprised of nine specialists in archaeology and forensic anthropology, is progressing in several test pits opened in the area where, according to preliminary studies, victims could be located. According to the Ministry of the Presidency, Coordination of Government Action, and Local Cooperation, a projectile from a Spanish Mauser rifle was identified in the first few days of the operation, an indication that strengthened the working hypotheses.
