      <description><![CDATA[<p><img src="https://static1.ara.cat/clip/9a445d72-fb7f-453e-b3f7-87d628f5aa24_16-9-aspect-ratio_default_0.jpg" /></p><p>The population of the Balearic Islands reached 1,249,844 inhabitants on January 1, 2025, representing an increase of 18,076 people in one year, 1.5% higher than the national increase (1%), according to the first data from the 2025 Annual Population Census published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). This increase places the archipelago as the second fastest-growing autonomous community, tied with the Community of Madrid and second only to the Valencian Community (2%). The Balearic Islands have 622,673 men and 613,910 women, according to the same source. Ibiza is the ninth municipality in Spain with the largest population increase in the last year, rising by 2.6% to 54,628 residents.</p>]]></description>
