The Montuïri City Council has begun work to connect a new water supply well to the municipal network, an urgent measure whose main objective is to minimize the severe water crisis that the municipality is suffering.

Last night, the Montuïri Town Council unanimously approved awarding the honorary title of Mayor of Puig 2026 to Maria Antònia Rigo Gallard for her career and contribution to the educational, social, civic, and cultural improvement of the municipality. Maria Antònia Rigo is a teacher with a renowned passion for teaching and the pursuit of new pedagogical approaches in schools. She has been the principal of the CEIP Climent Serra i Servera school in Porreres, where she currently teaches. However, her impact on Montuïri extends far beyond the classroom: the official document highlights her "unparalleled dedication and commitment to numerous local associations." This award, traditionally presented by the Town Council on behalf of all citizens, recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the betterment of the municipality throughout their lives.

The plenary hall of the Montuïri Town Hall was too small to accommodate all the people who wanted to attend the inauguration of Toni Miralles NiellChocolatier as the new mayor of Montuïri. He has done so in compliance with the governing pact with MÉS per Montuïri, which gives the mayorship to the socialists until the end of this term and 42 years and one month after the last PSIB-PSOE mayor took office.
