The Palma Local Police are investigating a 48-year-old man for driving with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit and attempting to flee from officers after disobeying a stop sign. According to a statement released by the police force, the incident occurred on January 4th at 3:00 AM, when a patrol from the Night Unit (UNOC) spotted a car driving erratically on Marquès de la Sènia Street. The officers signaled for the driver to stop, and while he initially pulled over, he then accelerated sharply to flee, leading to a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended on Torrent Street, where the man abandoned the car with the engine running and continued his escape on foot, until he was apprehended by officers a few meters away.

The National Police have arrested two young men accused of stealing a vehicle, driving it without a license, fleeing from officers, and assaulting them during a police chase in Palma. The incident occurred last Tuesday at approximately 4:40 a.m., when officers from the Citizen Assistance Group, who were carrying out crime prevention duties, spotted a vehicle with Italian license plates driving without lights in the Son Gotleu neighborhood. When the patrol approached the car, which had stopped at a traffic light, they attempted to identify its occupants, and the three individuals inside fled. Faced with this situation, the officers alerted other patrols to assist in the pursuit. The vehicle fled recklessly, disregarding traffic signs, towards Marratxí. Several patrols attempted to block its path without incident, until the car returned to the Son Gotleu neighborhood.
