The Consell Insular de Formentera has decided to intervene motu proprio on the coast due to the lack of action by the Spanish government (competent administration) in maintaining the protection elements of the dune systems of the Natural Park of Ses Salines.

The Christmas Lottery Good fortune has smiled upon the Balearic Islands once again. Monday's special lottery draw brought luck to various locations in Mallorca and Ibiza, thanks to a third prize and two fifth prizes that were sold, in whole or in part, in several municipalities across the islands. The number 90,693 won the third prize, worth €500,000 per series (€50,000 per tenth share), and was sold in the Port of Alcudia, Cala d'Or, and Consell. The number was drawn at 11:12 a.m., on the fourth wire of the fifth board.
