The motion supporting the Popular Legislative Initiative for the creation of a supplementary pension system for those whose pensions fall below the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI), promoted by the Balearic Islands Pensioners' Movement, was approved this Thursday by the Santa Maria City Council, with the People's Party (PP) voting against it. The City Council urges the Government to establish a regional social supplement to ensure that no pension falls below the SMI until the State implements its equalization.
