A young man from Barcelona died early Tuesday morning after being run over by a taxi on the access roads to Menorca Airport, in Maó. The victim, who was spending a few days on holiday on the island with his family, was lying on the road when the driver of the vehicle hit him without noticing his presence. The circumstances in which the young man ended up on the road are still unknown and remain under investigation.

The Inca court has decreed this Wednesday the provisional imprisonment of the 27-year-old man accused of fatally running over an 83-year-old cyclist on the Ma-2200 road, in Pollença, and abandoning the scene of the accident without providing assistance. The suspect appeared before the court this morning after being arrested by the Civil Guard a few hours after the incident.

The Civil Guard has arrested the driver who ran over a cyclist of about 84 years old this Monday on the Pollença road and fled the scene.

A cyclist died this Saturday after being hit by a vehicle on the old Inca road, as it passes through the municipality of Santa Maria del Camí. The incident occurred at kilometer 15.6 around 11:00 AM, as confirmed to Europa Press by the Directorate General of Traffic. Civil Guard officers, the Santa María del Camino Local Police, and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. They attended to the victim, but were ultimately unable to save his life.
