The Network of Alternative and Solidarity Economy of the Balearic Islands (REAS Balears) generated an economic activity of 27.4 million euros in 2025, representing an increase of 17% compared to the previous year. As explained this Monday by the president of REAS Balears, Maria Jaume, during the presentation of the entity's annual report, the 13 organizations that make up the network maintained 558 jobs throughout the past fiscal year.

Wedding dresses can also be sustainable, modular, and have a life beyond the big day. This is the proposal with which Mallorcan designer Carme Vidal debuts in the bridal sector with Mon Cor, a collection that champions "simplicity, versatility, and mindful consumption." Designed and made entirely in Palma, the line argues that "getting married and being true to yourself, to your own values, are not incompatible concepts." In statements to ARA Baleares, Vidal explains that the initiative stems from the difficulty of finding wedding dresses with which she feels a connection. "The market is saturated with princess-style dresses, very far removed from my style and what I understand as authenticity," she points out. The lack of role models was the impetus that drove her to create her own proposal, deeply rooted in Mallorca, which has been her main source of inspiration. "I wanted to recreate the natural world and connect with its roots: the countryside, the landscape, the traditions, and everyday life," she explains.
