The management and works council of Mallorca Railway Services (SFM) signed the first part of an agreement on Thursday to call off the announced protests. The ratified portion of the agreement pertains to the statutes of the Safety Committee, which will be responsible for addressing most of the 48 points on the workers' list of demands. "This is the starting point for establishing this committee, which will benefit all citizens of the Balearic Islands and, in particular, the railway company," emphasized SFM's general manager, José Ramón Orta.
