The Joint Congress-Senate Commission on Insularity approved this Tuesday an initiative from the People's Party that calls on the government for a new road convention for Mallorca that will allow the unblocking of the approximately 230 million euros pending from the previous agreement and promote new road infrastructures considered priorities on the island. The motion, a non-binding initiative, had the votes in favor of the PP, Vox, the PNB and Sumar-MÉS, and the abstention of the socialists. The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, was present at the debate.

The Consell de Mallorca, together with representatives of MÉS por Mallorca, El Pi, Vox and the PP, have signed a joint initiative for to demand that the state government approve a new highway agreement which would allow investment of up to 350 million euros in the island's road infrastructure. The PSOE is the only group not participating in the request.
