The objective of the conference is to offer all the necessary information so that an astronomical phenomenon as exceptional as the total solar eclipse on August 12 can be a safe, scientifically rigorous experience and one that, as far as possible, avoids overcrowding in specific locations. With his talk, Pep Marcús, in a clear, direct and very didactic tone, will explain in an understandable way what an eclipse is, what phases it presents and what peculiarities this event will have, focusing on the observation experience from our territory. He will also offer, among others, essential recommendations to ensure a satisfactory and safe observation and will advise on the basic precautions to take and the errors to avoid.
