The SAMU 061 emergency system has incorporated a new unit specialized in high-complexity pediatric and neonatal transport. The vehicle, presented today by the Minister of Health, Manuela García, will allow for improved care and transfer of critical patients between hospitals in Mallorca, and will also serve Menorca and Ibiza. The new ambulance is conceived as a mobile extension of the intensive care units of the Son Espases University Hospital. The objective is for professionals to be able to initiate advanced care wherever the patient is and maintain it throughout the journey to the reference center.
