Amanda Fernández, a teacher by profession, a member of Parliament and Secretary General of the Socialist Federation of Mallorca, now faces the challenge of contesting the presidency of the Council. She began as a councilwoman in Manacor and was a director general during the governments of Francina Armengol. Now, she defends a project based on setting limits on growth, reducing tourist spots and strengthening the role of the island institution.What do you want to change about Mallorca that justifies you wanting to preside over the Council?

The Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosario Sánchez (Palma, 1976), will replace Francina Armengol as the PSIB's lead candidate in the 2027 regional elections. Iago Negueruela announced this Tuesday that he will run in the PSIB primaries in Palma to be the candidate for mayor of the city in the next municipal elections, scheduled for May 2027.
