To the direct question of whether the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office had tasked the former judicial police commissioner Antoni Cerdà with meeting the head of a drug clan to gather evidence, Miguel Ángel Subiran answered "no". It was, however, a "no" with nuances, as he acknowledges informal conversations where the prosecutor conveyed his concern to Cerdà and where it can be interpreted that the former police chief would do something about it.
