A considerably sized vessel caught fire this Friday afternoon in the Can Pere Antoni area, in Palma, causing a dense column of smoke visible from the coast.

The Civil Guard has arrested a 52-year-old man accused of stealing a boat valued at more than one million euros in the port of Sóller and attempting to ram the patrol boats pursuing him as he fled towards Ibiza. The operation, in which a helicopter and two boats from the Maritime Service participated, lasted approximately half an hour.
