The Balearic Islands are nearing the end of a summer that, thanks to climate change, is more of a thermal penance than a period of leisurely pleasure. Curiously, the last summer of the legislative term has served for the PP to close the circle: Marga Prohens the term began with massive protests against saturation, and it ends the same way. However, there is a difference, because in the summer of 2023 the police did not assault the protesters. He has been heavily criticized for saying that not enough was done to curb tourism growth during the Pact and that the left "should have lost the 2019 elections", but Pedro Sánchez's early general election prevented it. This exercise in self-criticism was not a strategy by the deputy, but rather a slip-up. The relaxed format of the program L’hora de la sesta, the fact that he was among friends –political scientists Julián Claramunt and Pau Torres– and that he did not expect it to have many listeners made him lower his guard. But his words have had wide dissemination and have reopened old wounds in the party.
