Mabel Chavarino was walking from the Olivar market towards Sant Miquel when suddenly she sees, entering the pedestrian zone, three Local Police vans. A bunch of uniformed officers get out and she thinks: "They are going to look for the street vendors". When she arrives at Sant Miquel, she observes how dozens of plainclothes people –she counts more than thirty– begin to put on identification vests. They are also police officers. She realizes that "they are not only going to look for the vendors" –as she calls them–, but they are going after the street performers. The officers begin to draw up reports, remove their equipment, put their things into trash bags and deposit everything into the police vehicles. "Not even in an operation against drug trafficking", she summarizes.
