The protest took place in front of the state government delegation, which the Police had secured by land and air: four National Police vans, a dozen officers and civil guards at the door monitored the demonstrators, in addition to the images captured by a helicopter and a drone that flew over the area during the two hours that the protest lasted, peaceful and civic at all times.

And, after the police charges of 26-J, the narrative of tourist saturation has been sidelined in the media by another debate much more comfortable for Marga Prohens' Government. It is important not to lose focus, because the president is one of the main people responsible for responding to the problems that the tourism model generates in the daily lives of the citizens of the Balearic Islands. The day after one of the most massive protests ever seen in the Islands, Prohens has not felt the need to face the situation, nor to give explanations about the lack of management, nor to confront her unfulfilled promises. The president has spoken about the charges, has demanded explanations from the Spanish government delegate, Alfonso Rodríguez, and has remarked that she respects the right to demonstrate, as if that were not a given.

Antònia Verger was for many years the lady of the Puig or of Cas Carboner, later. Without realizing it, she was a leader, a reference for other women who in the last quarter of the last century too often did not escape household chores. Verger began like this, not in vain when she is asked about her studies, she explains that she managed to take exams at the Institute of Felanitx, but, "the boys continued their studies and the girls, as was usual at that time, ended up doing household chores or as seamstresses". It was at the beginning of the seventies – and not without difficulties, as you will see in the interview – that she embarked, together with her husband, Biel Bennàssar Mayol Carboner, on the adventure of managing the bar and restaurant of Puig de Sant Miquel. In this conversation, Verger reviews from the beginning the success of her cuisine to the tensions and the social transformation that, without knowing it, it represented for the women of the town.

A grotesque spectacle where a selection of content creators face each other in boxing matches after months of training and fake rivalries. Digital celebrities like Plex, TheGrefg, Tati, IlloJuan, Clersss, Roro or Edu Aguirre (the latter, reporter for"The Beach Bar) face each other despite their evident lack of talent in this discipline. The evening was held at the La Cartuja stadium in Seville in front of about eighty thousand spectators who attended the party with unprecedented fervor. Huge jumbotrons and noise amplified by large speakers overstimulated the audience. Núria Marín and Javi Hoyos introduced the event. Between fights, Bad Gyal, Juanes, Anuel AA, or Lucho RK and La Pantera performed. The "bread dipped in oil" boxers entered the ring with a triumphant entrance with choreography. Plex entered as if he were a charioteer, on a winged cardboard chariot and music from Gladiator.

I am very sad. As a young man, I would never have imagined that Mallorca's future would be like it is now, an island full of cement and tourists, with saturated roads and residents who cannot access housing. For this summer's concerts, I am considering singing ‘Trenc’ again, which four decades ago I dedicated to the emblematic beach of Campos that now, unfortunately, is once again threatened”. ‘Trenc’ was the debut of the country singer from Vilafranca as an environmental activist at 35 years old. As soon as we write and pronounce its name, we already sweat. However, cold soups are the dish of the season: subtle, refreshing, and they have the ability to make use of ingredient scraps left in the kitchen from other prepared dishes. Soups are a sustainable resource: you have a piece of leek, an onion, and a pear, you help it with mineral water and a touch of perfume to enhance the flavors, and you have one ready to eat with a spoon. In this regard, chef Carme Ruscalleda proposes cooking four traditional soups, classics from local and international cuisine that will always be current and that, in turn, allow for personal experimentation, so that each person can finish them with their personal touch.

The SIAU union, which supports the affected teachers, denounces that there are "inconsistencies" in the application of the system and assures that several management teams have issued official certificates that contradict the resolutions of Education. According to these documents, some positions would have been withdrawn despite continuing to exist under the same conditions, while in other cases a teacher would have been forced to keep a position that no longer matches the needs of the one she occupied.

From what we have seen in recent weeks, our rulers (both elected and unelected) are afraid of citizen mobilizations. The shameful episode of the arrest – with shackles and jail and all – of the activists from Santa Maria, the warning – the threat? – from the Civil Guard and the National Police announcing that they will prosecute “delictes contra el turisme” (we must understand that they mean fraudulent tourist offers, because otherwise, we don't know who they are talking about), the attempts from the tribune docile to the Government to disqualify, or directly criminalize, the human chain of last day 5 against the lack of protection of the Trenc – Salobrar de Campos Natural Park, the contradiction of the president of CAEB Carmen Planas applauding the arrest of the young women from Santa Maria and asking to “flee from extremism” (extremism is shackling and arresting innocent citizens, ladies and gentlemen)... All this only serves to demonstrate the nervousness of the Government (Balearic), the government delegation (of Spain), the security forces and bodies, and certain tourism entrepreneurs (who command over the rest). Like all fears, that of these rulers and public powers is emotional. This means that it blinds them and prevents them from making a correct analysis of reality. And it also demonstrates a lack of democratic consistency on their part.To all these timid and unfortunate actions and statements must be added those of the first vice-president and government spokesperson, Antoni Costa. According to him, the application of degrowth policies "would have consequences in terms of employment, there would be people who would have to pack their bags." It seems like a joke, but this was said by a vice-president of the Balearic Government. Probably, even now it has not occurred to him to stop and think about what he said, or where he said it.For a long time, many citizens of the Balearic Islands with higher education have had to leave these islands to seek their working lives, because here they simply have nothing to do. Scientists, researchers, doctors, architects, physicists, musicologists... In all the variety of disciplines and knowledge we can think of, the brain drain from the Balearics, the loss of people who give vitality to a society and can make it progress, is a constant and dramatic fact, for which we pay and will pay (and future generations will pay) a very high price. There are also many people who pack their bags because they cannot buy or rent an apartment or a house on islands where housing has been vampirized by speculators – large, medium, and small – with the enthusiastic applause of our rulers and their propagandists, who claim that all this "feeds us".It is the same paternalistic and condescending vision, according to which we Mallorcans, Minorcans, Ibizans, and Formenterans have no other option than to sell these islands in pieces, and in the meantime, sink them into the degradation of mass tourism and let the last one close the door. The demonstrations this July have been a "enough is enough" that our rulers should listen to. They will be completely mistaken if, instead of listening, they try to present citizen protests as extremism, exaggeration, or even as a crime against we don't know what. They will be so mistaken, if they do that, that they will lose power. Taking things for granted, disregarding the voices that protest, is characteristic of mediocre and arrogant politicians. These are the ones, for the good of all, who we should see pack their bags and never again see them in positions of public responsibility.

Frankly, I would never write (and the other chronicler wouldn't either, I'd say) that "you don't know what you have until you lose it." It is ungrateful and unconscious. And we are not like that: we knew what we were losing in 2013 when Antònia Font announced a retirement; we know that, after Mobo, there will be a void for alternative music, that a space for closeness and recognition (identification?) will be missing; we know what we will lose if we continue living on mass tourism, wild and bare with everyday life, and since we know it, this Sunday afternoon we will be in Palma at the demonstration against tourist overcrowding, in favor of a dignified life.

Antoni Rotger Martínez was its alma mater. “I no longer recognize – he laments at 80 years old – the streets where I grew up and played with other children. There are tourists everywhere and, because of gentrification, many of my former comrades in struggle have had to leave. This was a rundown, working-class neighborhood, and now it is prey to the real estate speculation that the entire island suffers from”. In 1975, this man from Calatrava, of the 'pedra picada' style, was 32 years old and, with Franco agonizing, he already led the neighborhood mobilization against the construction of a large parking lot for tourist coaches in front of the Cathedral. The cry of protest was ‘Park YES, parking NO’. Due to that pressure, in May 1976 the City Council rectified and gave way to a competition of ideas for the design of the current Parc de la Mar, which was inaugurated in 1984.

The other constructions are the Torre de la Guardiola, on the island of Espalmador, the Torre de Punta Prima, next to Es Pujols, the Torre del Pi del Català, on Migjorn beach, and the Torre del Garroveret, near Cap de Barbaria. The route we have traced circumvents the Estany del Peix, a large natural pond open to the sea by La Boca, which was the island's first major fishing and salt port. Indeed, the venda de Porto-salè takes its name from the Portus salarius, a salt exploitation from Roman times. An extraordinary place where natural and heritage values have built a powerful and extensive cultural landscape. We will also visit the public estate of Can Marroig, one of the emblematic corners of the Ses Salines de Eivissa i Formentera Natural Park. For inquiries about the island's public transport, we can consult the website busformetera.com, where we will find all the information about routes and timetables.

This is the case for the main objective of our route: an itinerary around Esporles and the hermitage of Maristel·la through old bridle paths, charcoal burner huts, and a long and extensive road and hydraulic infrastructure for the exploitation of mountain forests, which should lead us to the 'secret' viewpoints of Son Ferrà. Popularly attributed to the neighboring estate of Son Poquet, these two historical spaces are located a few meters from the wall that marks the division between both properties. The confusion arises because it is from these points that the aforementioned estate houses are best glimpsed. The walk will also take us through the hermitage of Maristel·la and the viewpoint of Cor de Jesús, a heritage of a recent and well-documented history of the 'contemplative' life of Esporles. If we want to use public transport to approach the start of our walk, the L-202 (Estellencs-Palma) is the best option. On the website tib.org, you will find all the necessary information about schedules and availability of the line.

When she explains everything she has experienced in Egypt, the interlocutor needs to go there. She has also cried in Egyptian burial chambers and when visiting the room where Alexander the Great died in Babylon. She cries when she arrives at places where history has been written.
https://en.ara.cat/culture/miquel-costa-llobera-in-the-holy-land_1_5809160.html

The title, Visions de la Palestina. Notes d’un pelegrinatge, by Miquel Costa i Llobera (Pollença, 1854-Palma, 1922), suggests a narrative travel diary written in prose, but it is a collection of autonomous poems linked by theme (different biblical episodes from the Old and New Testaments, the history of the Jewish people), the setting (the landscapes, the arid and venerable light and atmosphere of the Middle East) and the formal choice (the Hebrew verse), a very long Hebrew verse, which various scholars have mistakenly considered prose. The inspiration for the book was a cruise through the Mediterranean that Costa took in 1907, which took him to Rome, Greece, the Holy Land, and Egypt.Although Visions de la Palestina is not as well-known or central as Costa's two canonical titles, Poesies (1885, 1907) and Horacianes (1906), it is a valuable and important work, in which the poet demonstrates his majestic command of the language and his versatile formal virtuosity. The agile magnificence and imposing grace with which Costa, like Verdaguer, poeticizes matters both human and divine, the sacred and the profane, underscores his condition as a highly cultured and inspired priest-poet. It is for all these reasons that it is very good news that now, fifty-five years after it was last reissued as an independent book, the Lleonard Muntaner publishing house has produced a new edition, complete and impeccable, with paratexts (preface, notes, letters) of all kinds and origins. The critical edition, edited by Carles Cabrera Villalonga, is headed by a preliminary study by Gabriel de la S. T. Sampol which is so good that it not only exhaustively explains and contextualizes the work it presents but even functions as a partial but detailed and in-depth introduction to the overall costalloberiana work.Sampol, poet and translator, leaves nothing aside. He explains the circumstances of the work's writing; he reasons the why of the literary genre –lyrical poetry, not diariestism– and the why of the title –they are literal visions and also a vision of spiritual transport–; he points out the crucial fact that, with this book, Costa completed his cultivation of “the three formal possibilities” that he had mentioned a few years earlier in a conference at the Ateneu Barcelonès (classical, modern poetry and Hebrew versicle); he lists the main thematic axes of the poems (landscape, sentiment, spirituality and metaliterature); he unravels the rhetorical architecture and the most common rhetorical resources of the Hebrew versicle and Costa's adaptation of it, and indicates the scarce following that Catalan poetry has made of it later... What I said before: a very complete preliminary study. Meticulous and substantial erudition. It is evident, in any case, that most of the poems in Visions de la Palestina do not reach the category of Costa's best poetry. There is more deliberation and painstaking craft here than inspiration and grace, the rhythm flows with a somewhat affected and hesitant musicality, and the profusion of geographical and biblical references becomes burdensome. There are also, however, powerful poems, such as Llatzèria and Jerusalem, where we find, among others, these grandiloquent and inflamed verses: “Oh city of glory and terror!, your fate can only be explained by Calvary: the true Ark of your sanctification is this Sepulchre where Death was conquered”. A little-known but important book by one of the fathers of modern Catalan poetry.

The danger of homemade mayonnaise and the poor taste of industrial

https://en.ara.cat/food/the-great-paradox-of-industrial-mayonnaise-which-contains-sugars-and-additives_1_5809416.html

Mayonnaise, the Minorcan emulsion that the French have claimed to invent for years, is easy to prepare at home: it is made with olive oil, egg, lemon, and a pinch of salt. Current nutrition views it favorably because it is considered that mayonnaise provides the body with healthy fats and a small amount of protein from the egg. The problem, as everyone knows, is that "it is sensitive to microbiological contamination". "Raw eggs can contain bacteria such as salmonella," state dietitians-nutritionists Anna Costa and Anna Grífols. And all this is aggravated in the summer, with high temperatures. So, what do we do? If we want to eat a Russian salad with mayonnaise, how do we go about it? There are a thousand and one jars on the supermarket shelves; are they good?“Paradoxically, from a microbiological point of view industrial mayonnaise is usually much safer than homemade,” states Anna Grífols. The industry uses pasteurized eggs, the sauce undergoes strict acidity controls and also production processes that minimize the risk of salmonellosis. However, industrial mayonnaise is made up of ingredients that we would not use at home: refined sunflower oil (at home we would use olive oil), sugars, and additives. “There are industrial mayonnaises that even incorporate oils of poorer nutritional quality, or quite a few technological ingredients,” points out Grífols. The industrial, more than four ingredients

If we take a jar of industrial mayonnaise, we will see that the list of ingredients is more extensive than the four we have mentioned. Placed in order according to quantity, we will find refined sunflower oil, water, pasteurized egg yolk, lemon juice or vinegar, sugar, spices, salt, and stabilizers such as xanthan gum. It is an industrial product, therefore, that imitates a simple preparation, and is safe because the egg is pasteurized. But be careful, "because it is safe coming out of the factory but when we open it and, therefore, air enters, it must be consumed quickly and kept cold, because microorganisms can also enter that spoil it," points out the dietitian-nutritionist Anna Costa. So, the paradox of industrial mayonnaise is that it assures us of food safety parameters but we lose many others in flavor and tradition, to the point where a simple recipe of four ingredients becomes an ultra-processed food. At this point, we recommend you make it at home with all precautions and eat it immediately. We advise you to use fresh eggs, with intact shells. Do not wash them, as the bacteria on the eggshells could penetrate inside. Wash your hands and also the tools with which you will prepare the mayonnaise. Add lemon or vinegar, as both act as acidifiers. Prepare a small quantity; basically, what you will eat. If, even so, you have leftovers, store it immediately in the refrigerator between 2 and 4 degrees. Do not keep it at room temperature. And eat it by the next day at the latest, no later than that.

Santi had spent summers in Tamariu, and when he was offered the proposal, he accepted. For the first three years, he combined Toc al Mar with the restaurant Toc de Barcelona, which was located on Girona street. They were very intense years, with two young children he had together with the head of service and partner, Sandra Baliarda (1972, Badalona). Today, their children have already confessed that they like and are enthusiastic about the hospitality world. They have the succession secured.

Sixty years on stage and a long history of memorable characters and voice acting do not prevent him from assuring, with laughter, that he is not "a very good actor."
