The operation, coordinated between the Local Police and the National Police, began at 12 noon and lasted for a large part of the day. One of the evicted, Bernardino, a 60-year-old Italian who was evicted, criticized being treated like a drug trafficker and commented to journalists: "Tonight I will sleep on the street, in this park, what a mess."

Its beaches, colonial heritage, culture, and close ties with Mallorcan tourism companies made it a regular choice for travel agencies. Today, however, the situation is very different. These projects, which often generate debate due to their impact on the land, are usually financed by contributions from individuals and investment funds. In the Balearic Islands, local participation is particularly high, and more and more residents are investing part of their savings in them, seeking economic returns. For these investors, it represents a new business opportunity that has emerged, while a significant portion of society, including environmental groups, agricultural organizations, and even the Administration, have expressed concern about the territorial destruction they promote.

The latest to do so have been the Mallorcan artists Amulet and Xisk, who have released the track In Paradise, a new criticism of tourist overcrowding and the current model of the Balearic Islands. In the song, they ironically and poignantly review the problems that this saturation derives from and how the Archipelago has become a theme park where residents are the last. In fact, the first line of the song already makes this message clear: "I come from a land that no longer wants me. Theme park, next to Hong Kong".

This regulation, however, should not have any additional impact on the Balearic Islands because the Archipelago already has its own Waste Law that controls the use of these containers, approved by the previous Pact government. The problem is that this law is not really being applied and not even the restaurateurs themselves know what to do. "There is quite a bit of confusion, we have had to request meetings because we don't even know what to do," explains the manager of CAEB Restauració, Tomeu Mas.
