The official document argues, among other issues, that allowing regional intervention in the administration of airports would cause a significant drop in public revenue and would negatively affect "Aena's aeronautical revenue". The loss for this year, it assures, would be around 32.9 million euros. MÉS per Mallorca has denounced the position of Pedro Sánchez's executive and has demanded that the President of Congress, Francina Armengol, make a move.

The event, which took place at the Plaça de Cort coinciding with Ceuta Day, turned into a cry against the Spanish government with "Pedro Sánchez, son of a bitch" (in Spanish) and "Pedro Sánchez, resignation" as leitmotifs. Among the attendees, constant shouts and insults were heard against the head of the Spanish executive, while numerous participants displayed Spanish flags, some of them Francoist. The demonstration began at 8 p.m. and was called within the framework of the mobilizations in support of Ceuta held throughout the State. According to the Local Police figures, 19,000 people participated, while the National Police point out that there were 8,000.

The President of Congress, Francina Armengol, lamented the loss in statements to the media. "These are very sad moments because we have lost a great reference for the left," she said, and highlighted that Alomar "has contributed enormous baggage from an intellectual point of view, for the projection of a much more progressive society." She also bid him farewell personally, as she said she had lost "a great friend": "The honor we can do him is to continue with his way of thinking and feeling".

Curiously, the last summer of the legislative term has served for the PP to close the circle: Marga Prohens the term began with massive protests against saturation, and it ends the same way. However, there is a difference, because in the summer of 2023 the police did not assault the protesters. The island society continues to await the report commissioned by the Spanish government delegate, Alfonso Rodriguez, who assured that he had given instructions to remain calm. Better not to think what would have happened if he hadn't given them.

Personally, to be able to accept the proposal, I find the adverb 'also' superfluous and I need to know if the visitors we want to encourage to come and enjoy our 'local produce' will drive up prices and, as a consequence, raise the economic bar required to go to the restaurants we've been going to all our lives, in other words, if they will gentrify us. If that's the case, I say it now, I'd rather stick with 'traditional' mass tourism.
