The Manacor City Council decreed on Tuesday the immediate evacuation of a building located right next to Plaza de la Bassa, in the heart of the city, due to the imminent risk of structural collapse. The building, three stories high, is currently uninhabited precisely because of these problems. However, the ground floor is occupied by two restaurants: an Argentinian fast-food establishment and a Chinese restaurant.

The Algaida Town Council today officially announced the purchase of the building under construction in the town center, which was left behind by Toni Puente after his sudden death in 2021.

A fire has caused the complete collapse of a warehouse in a building located in Manacor. The incident occurred this Monday at approximately 11:20 a.m. and required the deployment of several fire crews from the Mallorca Fire Department. According to the Emergency Services, the fire affected the garage, which the owners were using as a storage area, ultimately causing the complete collapse of the structure. Due to the building's condition, firefighters are still having difficulty accessing the interior to conduct an initial inspection and a detailed assessment of the damage, given the existing risk. Crews from the Manacor and Felanitx fire stations participated in extinguishing the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Despite the intensity of the flames and the collapse of the structure, there were no injuries.

The Sant Joan City Council and the Diocese of Mallorca have reached a historic agreement: the purchase by the municipal administration of the former cinema and theater in the Catholic Center building, popularly known as 'Es Centro'. The space has been disused and closed since a fire destroyed it in 1978. The deal comes after several attempts in recent years by municipal governments to acquire the building or, at the very least, secure its temporary transfer. None of the negotiations were successful. The Mayor of Sant Joan, Richard Thompson, has confirmed to All Plans The negotiations and contacts initiated at the end of 2023 have come to fruition: "The Diocese has already authorized the sale after the current parish priest of San Juan, Father Francesc Xavier Riutort, submitted a request." The preliminary agreement is for approximately €390,000 for the purchase of the 618 square meters occupied by what was the theater in the Es Centro building. In fact, the bar is open, and on the first floor there is an area used as a rectory and a space for other activities. There is also another area used by both the City Council and the bar itself as a storage area. All these spaces will remain the property of the Diocese.

Palma City Council has not ordered the paralyzation of the complete demolition of the building on Calle del 31 de Diciembre designed by architect Gaspar Bennàssar, according to City Council sources confirmed to ARA Baleares. The Mallorca Council has not requested it either. In fact, the authority to determine this does not lie with them, but with the Cort, according to sources from the island institution.

ARCA announced this Monday the suspension of the complete demolition of the building on Calle del 31 de Diciembre designed by architect Gaspar Bennàsser, which they described as a "small triumph."

The Governing Board approved the agreement between the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands (CAIB) and Palma City Council, which establishes the early termination of the contract for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the Magdalena Rigo Central Fire Station. Therefore, these facilities will be transferred to municipal management, putting an end to "more than a decade of accumulated non-compliance and deficiencies," according to Palma City Council spokesperson and Councilor for Finance, Civil Service, and Government, Mercedes Celeste.
