The Dret de Pas platform is one of the groups that has spoken out against the current wording of the law, which they believe will close access to a large number of paths and leave them in the hands of landowners. "If it is the heritage of all, the Serra de Tramuntana cannot be closed," claimed Pep Estopà, its spokesperson. The organization was formed almost spontaneously a month and a half ago, when Estopà, who is a cyclist, and other colleagues learned of the Consell's plans. In just a month and a half of campaigning, they have collected 3,364 signatures in support of their allegations.

A BASE jump from a prohibited area in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range has raised concerns among environmentalists in Mallorca. The video of the jump, circulated on social media, shows the activity taking place just meters from one of the few remaining active osprey nests, a species listed as vulnerable and currently beginning its breeding season. The Balearic Ornithological and Nature Defense Group (GOB) has filed a complaint with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, requesting increased monitoring of sports and adventure activities in the Serra de Tramuntana to protect endangered wildlife. According to the statement, the jump was made from an exclusion zone designated by the Natural Resources Management Plan (PORN), which prohibits all recreational and sporting activities. The video, clearly identifiable, shows both the jumper and the person who retrieved them with a boat, as well as the name of the company that organized the activity. Environmentalists point out that the exclusion zone is precisely the area with the highest biological value or fragile natural elements, as established by the Law for the Conservation of Areas of Environmental Interest. The osprey has only 11 breeding pairs located in Mallorca last year, and any disturbance could seriously affect its reproductive success. The GOB (Balearic Ornithological Group) warns that the growth of adventure tourism and mountain sports can have negative impacts on species conservation and calls for responsibility from citizens and businesses. "Access restrictions to the most environmentally sensitive areas must be respected," insist the environmentalists, who demand immediate action to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The piece, small but remarkably well-preserved, displays the characteristic features of an ox's snout and eyes—schematic, yet recognizable. According to archaeologists from the Almallutx group, who received and handed over the find this Monday to the Consell de Mallorca (Island Council of Mallorca), these types of representations typically have a ritual or symbolic character, related to strength and fertility. The small size of the piece suggests it may have been a decorative or cultic element within a larger ensemble, like the ox sculptures already known in the Balearic archaeological record. The post-Talayotic culture in Mallorca, which developed towards the end of the Bronze Age, is characterized by fortified settlements, metallurgical production, and elaborate ritual practices. Sculptures of oxen, such as this bronze head, reflect the symbolic importance of these animals, possibly linked to rituals of fertility, strength, and protection for the communities. Finds like this allow researchers to better understand the beliefs and daily life of the societies that inhabited the island more than 3,000 years ago, as well as their ability to create artistic and symbolic objects in metal. The researchers are especially grateful to Josep M. Buils, who reported the find. The piece is expected to be studied soon and displayed in a museum, allowing the public to closely examine this unique fragment of post-Talayotic Mallorca and compare it with other surviving representations of bulls.

The Consell de Mallorca (PP and Vox), presided over by the unflappable Llorenç Galmés, has presented its draft bill for the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, based entirely on the concept of 'administrative simplification'. 'Administrative simplification' is the idea most frequently championed by the two coalition partners, the PP and Vox, and they have pushed through a significant amount of legislation around it: first, the Simplification Decree; then, the law of the same name with its urban planning amnesty (and the green light for building in flood-prone areas); followed by the Sánchez-era housing law. These are the flagship laws of this legislative term, always guided, of course, by the spirit of administrative simplification.

According to the Consell de Mallorca (Island Council of Mallorca), the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium has made available to the public a collection of articles and photographs that allow visitors to delve into the cultural and ethnological values of the region. The project includes three online articles and nearly one hundred photographs that highlight emblematic elements of the Serra, such as terraced fields, stone paths, the hydraulic system, estates, and villages. "It is an international showcase that explains the Serra from a cultural perspective and helps to appreciate the heritage elements that promote more conscious and respectful tourism," explained the Island Councillor for the Presidency, Antoni Fuster. The content is complemented by articles such asThe cultural landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana, Stone and waterwhich includes fifteen heritage elements—, andThe Tramuntana mountain range, village by village, with cultural routes for exploring. The virtual space, the result of an agreement between Google and the Consortium, showcases the diverse cultures that have transformed the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range over the centuries and how a balance between productivity and environmental conservation has been maintained. Google Arts & Culture is a free platform that unites heritage and technology and already offers content from more than 1,500 institutions in 70 countries, with millions of users worldwide. The Consortium plans to progressively expand the content to keep this digital space alive.

The hiker was caught off guard by the steepness and difficulty of the terrain and became stuck in a very inaccessible area. Unable to reach the ground, the air rescue operation was activated, with the Sa Milana helicopter transporting two rescuers to an area near the victim. From there, the rescue team was able to reach the young man and begin the rescue. Simultaneously, the helicopter picked up two more rescuers from the Sóller Fire Station, who joined the operation and assisted in bringing the hiker down to safety. The operation was successful, and the young man is in good health. This is the first operation of its kind carried out this year by the Sa Milana helicopter in the Tramuntana mountain range.

The declaration of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range as a World Heritage Site in the cultural landscape category was a participatory, open, and cross-cutting process that served as a tribute to the legacy of our ancestors. For Mallorca, inscription on the renowned UNESCO list meant joining the most prestigious international ranking in the field of heritage conservation. And not for a single heritage element, but for an entire landscape, one of the most extensive declared as such up to 2011; and moreover, a cultural landscape, that is, a whole territory where, thanks to human transformation, new values have been sculpted, making it even more unique and more worthy of protection. This designation also allowed for further protection of the surrounding area, as demonstrated by the declassification of the Es Guix urban development, in the heart of the Tramuntana, which was upheld in court because it was located within an area inscribed on the World Heritage List.

The People's Party (PP) has finally secured the support of Vox, its coalition partner in the Consell de Mallorca (Island Council of Mallorca), to move forward with a proposal that must be approved by the Balearic Parliament to become law. The document, which ARA Baleares has obtained, includes the creation of an organization to manage the emblematic area, to be called the 'Tramuntana Mountain Range World Heritage Island Consortium'. This body will have its own staff and budget and will oversee aspects related to the management of cultural and territorial heritage, as well as economic initiatives linked to local products and the land. The 18 municipalities that make up the Tramuntana mountain range, the Departments of Economy and Agriculture, and other departments of the Consell will participate. The island institution argues that the area currently only has "scattered and generic regulations."

The recordings show a large area of recently excavated holm oak forest and the construction of a chalet of at least two stories on a street where, until now, there were only two old houses and no other urban development, according to eyewitnesses. According to witnesses, the work "devoured hundreds of square meters of forest" in an area far from the town center and close to an Area of Special Natural Interest (ANEI), raising suspicions that the construction may be illegal. "It's an abomination in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana," the hikers lamented.
