The general assembly of MÉS per Mallorca has decided that the party will remain within the Sumar parliamentary group. Members voted 67% to stay and 31% to leave. This decision, which had been postponed after a tie before the summer, was debated this Friday at the Pere Capellà community center in Algaida.

MÉS per Mallorca will resume its membership consultation this Friday afternoon to decide whether its member of parliament, Vicenç Vidal, will break with Sumar or remain in the parliamentary group, according to sources within the party who spoke to Europa Press. The matter was put on hold after a "technical tie" occurred among party members at the end of June, resulting in the parliamentarian remaining provisionally within the multinational group. As before, and in accordance with the statutes of MÉS per Mallorca, the assembly rules stipulate that any decision will be adopted by a qualified majority, that is, by two-thirds of the members exercising their right to vote in person. The aforementioned sources explain that the opinion of the members cannot be predicted, but they perceive that the majority will opt to remain within the Sumar group, given the calmer internal and political climate. However, their allies in Menorca, Más por Menorca, did hold a vote in July, and also through an assembly of their members, it was decided by 83% of the vote that Vidal should leave Sumar and join the Mixed Group. Given this context and the tie in the first consultation, Más por Mallorca opted to postpone the decision until the end of the summer. Although holding it in September was considered, the new assembly will ultimately take place on Friday, coinciding with the preliminary work for the party's upcoming congress, which will be held in December.

Vicenç Vidal, the Sumar-MÁS deputy in Congress, expressed his confidence that both the PP and the PSOE will support incorporating specific funding for the Balearic Islands into the state mobility law. This measure, Vidal explained in a press conference held this Wednesday, was introduced by him through an amendment—agreed upon with the Socialists—that clearly refers to the funding that the archipelago should receive.

The Més per Menorca assembly has endorsed, with 83% of votes in favor, the party's executive committee's proposal for Sumar MÁS deputy Vicenç Vidal to leave the Sumar Plurinational Group in Congress and join the mixed group.
