This custom may change starting in August. Can Jaume des Forn, the last bakery in Petra, will close its doors forever if nothing is done to stop it. Lita Torrens Font (Petra, 1961), who has worked in the family business for over forty years, is now ready to retire. For the last ten years, she has run the business alone, inherited from her husband Jaume's godparents, who had to relinquish it due to illness. The daily ritual of buying bread amidst the warmth and aromas of a traditional bakery to put on the table is in danger. This often imperceptible custom, sometimes undervalued precisely because it has always existed, could disappear from Petra's urban landscape, as has already happened in other municipalities of the Pla de Mallorca region.

Work has begun on the first phase of the renovation of the Convent of San Francisco de Paula, also known as the Convent of the Minims, in Sineu. This project is being carried out by the Consell de Mallorca (Island Council of Mallorca) and the Diocese of Sineu as part of an agreement for the restoration of ecclesiastical heritage sites. The Church of San Francisco de Paula is one of the municipality's most important heritage sites. According to a preliminary study, the building was in "generally acceptable condition, but with evident problems of water leaks and deterioration of the cladding, making intervention necessary." This initial phase, costing €70,000, involves monitoring existing cracks and focusing particularly on the roof to prevent further leaks. This intervention is considered urgent and includes actions such as the installation of crack gauges to monitor cracks, the repair of roof tiles, and the waterproofing of the facade's crown. The most significant intervention is the repair and waterproofing of the facade, which accounts for the majority of the budget. According to the mayor of Sineu, Tomeu Mulet, "the works will last 15 days, since the building is one of the places where the Holy Week floats are stored, and the scaffolding must be removed to allow for their removal." The convent church was built starting in the 17th century and forms part of the collective memory of the municipality. In addition to its architectural interest, the building is considered a key element of the town's urban landscape. The restoration project is thus part of the effort to preserve this heritage for future generations.

The proposal to bring the official recovery of a section of Road 77 to a plenary session, promoted by the Socialist Party, met with direct opposition from MÉS per Pollença, the coalition partner, which announced its intention to vote against it and demanded that the procedure be halted to allow for a broader debate on the consequences. The tension was not limited to the political benches. Several members of the public intervened, even without being given the floor, directly addressing the mayor and councilors with a level of aggression that nearly led to the suspension of the plenary session. Some attendees, opposed to the reopening, even presented independent studies to argue that the item should be removed from the agenda.

The bench, which displays the colors of the LGBTQ+ community, was found defaced with the word "Gay" painted in black. This is the third attack on the rainbow-colored bench. The first occurred in 2023, but it didn't receive much public attention at the time. In December 2024, it was vandalized again, this time painted entirely green. This second attack was condemned by the Algaida Town Council, which reported the incident to the Civil Guard. At the time, the Council and the Equality Commission expressed "their absolute condemnation and outrage at the act of vandalism" through social media and made their position known to the press. Now, in response to this latest attack, the commission has gone a step further, with some of its members posing for photographs to confront those who perpetrate these acts of vandalism from behind a veil of anonymity.

The shock came when they discovered that at least twenty sheep had died, a number that could rise in the coming hours if those that are badly injured or must be euthanized according to the protocol of the Ministry of Agriculture. Initially, it was assumed that the incident occurred today, although it could have happened over the weekend, as the flock owners left the sheep cared for last Saturday and have not returned to the farm since. Around mid-morning, police and local residents conducted several searches to locate the dogs responsible for the attack. The tracks they left behind suggested they were large dogs, which proved to be the case. Around 5:00 PM, the dogs' owner was located and admitted they had run away on Saturday. The owner also reportedly reached an agreement with the owners to take responsibility for the dead sheep. This morning, another suspect was apprehended near the farm. However, upon closer inspection, it was determined that he had no traces of blood and was docile, leading investigators to initially rule out his involvement in the killings.

The residents of Santa Eugenia are once again suffering from the constant power outages that have plagued the municipality for months. The latest incident occurred on Tuesday, January 20th, when intermittent interruptions took place from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Subsequently, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the power supply was completely cut off. According to the Town Hall, these incidents are not isolated. In fact, the local administration has already filed a formal complaint with Endesa, in which the council points out that during the last few years—and especially in recent months—the municipality has suffered numerous breakdowns, micro-outages, and prolonged interruptions that severely affect daily life, local businesses, and the lives of residents. One of the most visible examples is the Town Hall itself, where the elevator has become stuck due to one of these outages, compromising the building's accessibility. Residents complain that the problems don't only appear when it rains, but also during the summer, generating growing discontent. To try to put an end to this situation, the mayor, Pep Lluís Urraca, has decided to send an official letter to Endesa. In the communication, the City Council requests a detailed technical report on the state of the infrastructure, a list of incidents in recent months, and a plan of immediate action, with specific deadlines to guarantee the correction of the deficiencies. The Council also makes it clear that it does not rule out taking further institutional or legal action if the power outages persist. Meanwhile, residents continue to wait for a definitive solution to a problem that the municipality has been dealing with for far too long.

Residents of Lloret are also experiencing power outages. Complaints have been filed with the local council in this area as well, but so far nothing has been done.
