A fire that broke out Thursday afternoon in an illegal settlement in Palma gutted one of the shacks, causing no injuries. According to the Palma City Council, the fire started shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Joan Mascaró i Fornés Street, in the Son Serra Perera neighborhood. Firefighters from Palma were dispatched to the scene and extinguished the flames around 7:00 p.m. Several units of the Local Police also responded. The fire only affected a small wooden house located within the group of shacks in the area.

The Santa Eulària City Council has removed more than 100 tons of waste from the plot where the Can Rova 2 settlement stood until Tuesday. The municipality's Councilor for Citizen Security, Juan Carlos Roselló, explained that half of the garbage still needs to be removed, so they will need more days to properly dispose of the waste that was previously occupied.
