The Human Rights Commission of the Balearic Islands Bar Association has condemned the police charges following Sunday's demonstration in Palma under the slogan 'Mallorca, at the limit' and has called for an independent and effective judicial investigation into the injuries caused to about twenty people and those responsible for ordering and carrying out these assaults.

The mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, considers that living in a building without minimum conditions like the old prison is a "personal decision" and not due to a situation of vulnerability. Rosa Estaràs, a member of the Balearic Islands People's Party (PP), has publicly denounced the "political persecution" suffered by Rwandan opposition leader and president of the United Democratic Forces, Victoire Ingabire, currently imprisoned in Kigali.
