Ferran Montero Sitges is now the new mayor of Manacor. With thirteen votes in favor from MÉS-Esquerra and its partners from the PSOE and AIPC, the councilor for Education and Culture has received the political and physical baton from Miquel Oliver, who will continue as a part-time councilor. This Thursday evening, Oliver has completed, in his own words, a "rebranding" at the head of the Manacor City Council, currently the last major stronghold of the left in Mallorca.

The five municipalities of Ibiza have agreed to supply themselves 100% with water from desalination plants and reduce the use of well water in municipal networks to the bare minimum. This decision was made at the Council of Mayors held at the headquarters of the Island Council, where the President of the Council, Vicent Marí, explained that more desalinated water is produced during the off-season than the municipalities consume and that replacing well water "will reduce the pressure on aquifers" by around one cubic hectometer.
