There is a very specific situation that you may have experienced at some point: you write an email in Catalan, reread it just before sending it and, almost without thinking, you change a 'som' for a 'soc'. Or a 'pensàssim' for a 'penséssim'. Perhaps you don't even have a very clear idea of the reasons for the change, but you modify it anyway, because there is a strange intuition (but much more widespread than it seems) that associates certain forms with an idea of Catalan that is more formal, more neutral, or simply more "correct" when the situation gets a bit serious.

This is the challenge that the Consell de Mallorca sets for the island's youth and which it develops through various programs that combine mental health, creativity, nature, and new opportunities. With this commitment, the institution wants to respond to the real concerns of young people and offer them useful tools for their day-to-day lives, from emotional well-being to personal expression or quality free time. In the words of the president of the Consell, Llorenç Galmés, “we have not only the obligation, but the firm will to support our young people and contribute to their integral growth. It is, without a doubt, the best investment we can make for Mallorca: betting on the talent, well-being, and development of the capabilities of our young people”.

It is heard in classrooms, in conversations between friends, and in many homes and environments. But it no longer always comes out on its own. Increasingly, speaking it is a choice – and it is here where its immediate future is being played out. The success of initiatives like Acampallengua and the youth presence at language rallies show that the muscle remains active and capable of mobilization. It is not just a symbolic issue: these are spaces where the language is practiced, reinforced, and projected into the future. This year, the first edition of Correllengua Agermanat will test this commitment.
