Anti-massification protests continue: last Wednesday was the last dinner against the gentrification of Brunzzit and, this Saturday, Madò Farta is back in action. The activist has called for a human chain from Plaça d'Espanya to the Consulate, where they will deliver a list of demands to the Government. The spokesperson for the Executive, Antoni Costa, said he respects the demonstration, but also defended the management of President Marga Prohens. "It cannot be said that this Government has not taken measures: some of those requested have already been done," he said.

Madò Farta attacks again. After a summer marked by numerous mobilizations against mass tourism, the activist joins to citizen initiatives, such as those organized by Brunzit, and has called for an action to collectively cool off on August 29th in the Plaça d'Espanya in Palma.

With her face hidden behind a skull mask and dressed as a peasant woman, Madò Farta began to make noise —despite being a mute figure shrouded in mystery— on social media in June of this year. Since then, this figure, halfway between a bogart and a feminist water spirit, has appeared both alone and supporting other calls, in most —if not all— of the protests against tourist overcrowding convened throughout Mallorca.

A figure dressed in traditional peasant attire, her face hidden behind a skull mask and, often, dragging a large bag of rubbish. This is how Madò Farta has presented herself on social media, a new anonymous character who, in a few days, has begun to make her mark in different settings in Mallorca with a message against tourist overcrowding and, in particular, against incivility.
