PalmaThe Local Police of Ibiza detected this Friday at dawn, in a new operation, a possible illegal tourist dwelling after responding to an intervention due to noise complaints. As reported by the City Council, the 092 control room received the alert. The building's security guard had warned that the occupants of the dwelling were causing disturbances to neighbors and were not heeding instructions. Upon the agents' arrival, the tenants cooperated at all times and handed over the documentation related to their stay.

Thus, the Police verified that it was a short-term rental, as the dwelling had been rented for ten days through a company that had managed the reservation for an amount of 6,000 euros. Given the indications, the Police opened a record for possible illegal tourist rental and transferred the information to the Council so that it could continue with the corresponding actions.

This action adds to the 10 complaints for illegal tourist rental that the City Council has processed this year. Furthermore, the Corporation recalled that the Local Government Board of June 1 agreed to dismiss in their entirety the allegations presented in relation to a file from 2024.

The Corporation imposed a fine of 793,443 euros upon accrediting the change of use of a residential dwelling to tourist use without possessing an enabling title.
