PalmThe Balearic Islands recorded 1.3 million trips by residents of Spain in the third quarter of the year, representing 2.3% of the total, according to data released this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics. Overnight stays totaled 8.2 million during this period, also 2.2% of the national total.

Tourists residing in Spain spent €721.7 million in the Balearic Islands, with an average expenditure of €533 per person and an average daily expenditure of €87. Balearic residents, for their part, made one million trips between July and September, resulting in 5.4 million overnight stays and a total expenditure of €365 million.
