PalmaEsporles is the municipality in the Balearic Islands with the highest average declared gross income. Taxpayers in this municipality declared an average of 56,468 euros in 2024, according to data from the Tax Agency. It is followed by two other municipalities in the Serra de Tramuntana, Valldemossa, with 49,102 euros, and Puigpunyent, with 45,445 euros.
The data allows for mapping the municipalities with the highest incomes in the Balearic Islands and shows a clear predominance of towns in Mallorca among the top positions. The Tax Agency's statistics collect the average gross income of personal income tax (IRPF) filers in municipalities with more than 1,000 inhabitants.
After Esporles, Valldemossa, and Puigpunyent, the ranking is completed by Bunyola, with 44,545 euros, and Alaró, with 42,794 euros. In sixth position appears Santa Maria, with an average gross income of 40,216 euros, followed very closely by Marratxí, with 40,130.
The Balearic top ten is completed by Calvià, with 39,852 euros; Santa Eulària des Riu, with 39,665, and Santa Eugènia, with 38,364 euros.
Thus, of the ten municipalities in the Balearic Islands with the highest average gross income, only one is not Mallorcan: Santa Eulària des Riu, in Ibiza. The rest are located in Mallorca, with a special concentration of municipalities in the Serra and Raiguer areas.
Esporles, among the municipalities with the highest income in Spain
The leadership of Esporles within the Balearic Islands also extends to the rest of the country. The Majorcan municipality appears in 19th place in the Spanish ranking of average gross income, and is the only one from the Islands to enter the top twenty.
However, the difference with the municipalities heading the national classification is considerable. Pozuelo de Alarcón, in Madrid, returned to occupy the first place in 2024, with an average gross income of 92,564 euros.
The second place went to Benahavís, in Malaga, which experienced a strong increase compared to the previous year and moved from position 56 to second, with an average income of 79,041 euros. The third place was occupied by Boadilla del Monte, also in Madrid, with 76,478 euros.
The Tax Agency's statistics allow for the comparison of both gross income and disposable income of taxpayers in each municipality and offer a snapshot of the territorial distribution of income declared in 2024.
