PalmThe King James Festival in Santa Ponça is celebrating its 31st anniversary this year, commemorating the 796th anniversary of King James's landing. The program runs from this Saturday, August 30th, to next Sunday, September 7th, and includes a variety of activities. Highlights include:

Saturday, August 30th

  • XXIV Meeting of Giants.

Tuesday, September 2

  • Night of Fire: fire and music show through the streets of Santa Ponça.

Wednesday, September 3

  • Dramatized landing route, which relives the arrival of King James.

Friday, September 5

  • The groups take part in a parade.

Saturday, September 6

  • Landing and battle, the central event of the festivities, with more than 1,300 participants in the historical reenactment.

From Thursday, September 4th to Sunday, September 7th

  • Medieval market.

In addition, throughout the week there will be concerts (Alejandra Burgos, Fandango All Stars, Los Javaloyas, Saoko, Son mezcla'o), family shows, comedy (Madò Pereta, Rubén García, Javito Rivas) and sporting competitions such as the swimming across the bay of Santa Ponça, the flying tournament and the Jaime volleyball tournament, which links Calvià with Salou.
