Miró's exhibition, 'La força inicial', opens at the Lonja

It is part of the exhibition project Miró Landscape, that It presents more than a hundred works, some of which have never been seen in Mallorca., spread across four venues. Specifically, the exhibition brings together four major exhibitions that review Joan Miró's career from different perspectives: his origins, at the Fundació Miró Mallorca; the exploration of color, at the Casal Solleric; coexistence with shadows, at the Lonja; and boundless rebellion, at Es Baluard.

Described as historic and a "dream come true" by its main organizers—and even as "the largest cultural event held in the Balearic Islands in decades," in the words of the President of the Government, Marga Prohens—the exhibition has enjoyed the collaboration of the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, where almost half of the works come from. It was curated by Antònia Maria Perelló, director of the Miró Mallorca Foundation; David Barro, director of Es Baluard; Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta, director of the Solleric Cultural Center; and Carmen Fernández Aparicio, head of sculpture conservation at the Reina Sofía.
