PalmaNiño de Elche will present in Palma the absolute premiere of the complete version of Entre Feldman, a creation developed with Héctor Cavallaro based on the work and thought of the American composer Morton Feldman. It will take place on November 14 at 9:30 PM at the Auditòrium de Palma as part of the ME_MMIX festival program. The artist will be accompanied by an ensemble of thirteen musicians from the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Christian Karlsen.

The event will allow the audience to hear the complete piece for the first time, lasting about fifty minutes. Until now, only a 25-minute preview had been presented at the Resis festival, first in A Coruña and then in Madrid. Palma will, therefore, be the place where the project will take its definitive form for the first time.

Entre Feldman coincides with the centenary of the birth of Morton Feldman (1926-1987), one of the most singular figures of 20th-century music. His compositions challenged traditional narrative structures and explored a way of understanding musical time based on repetition, silence, and an almost contemplative listening. His work also maintained a close relationship with the visual arts and creators such as Mark Rothko, Philip Guston, and Jackson Pollock.

Niño de Elche and Cavallaro start especially from Feldman's texts collected in Vertical Thoughts, published in Spanish by Caja Negra. From there, the proposal combines the composer's writings with newly created music and references ranging from Schubert, Webern, and Stravinsky to artists such as Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Cézanne, and Picasso.

Niño de Elche assumes the creative direction, musical creation, and vocals, while Héctor Cavallaro participates in the co-creation and plays the piano live. Christian Karlsen will conduct the thirteen musicians of the Symphony, Albert Pinya will be responsible for the visuals, and Mateu Malondra signs the transcription and orchestration.

The performance will be part of the 2026 edition of ME_MMIX, which will be held between November 12 and 22 at different venues in Palma. The festival will once again distribute the programming among locations such as Es Baluard, La Misericòrdia, the Auditòrium, the Teatre Principal, the Xesc Forteza, and the Casal Balaguer. The programming published by the festival confirms Entre Feldman as one of the highlight events of this edition.
