PalmaThe Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra has registered a complete sell-out in the two concerts it offered this week at the Cervantes Theatre in Malaga, as part of the artistic exchange with the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra. More than 2,000 people attended the performances on Thursday and Friday, the institution reported in a statement.

The program, focused on Central European repertoire, included Ludwig van Beethoven's Overture Leonora No. 3, a selection of lieder by Franz Schubert —with the participation of baritone Benjamin Appl— and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5.

The performance was widely applauded by the audience, who valued the orchestra's intensity and cohesion, as well as the soloist's expressiveness in the vocal repertoire. The Symphony Orchestra highlighted "the excellent reception" of the proposal and the interest in these types of initiatives, which strengthen cultural ties between territories.

The concerts conclude the exchange project initiated last January in Palma, when the Malaga ensemble performed at the Auditorium of Palma. According to the orchestra, this collaboration consolidates a "cultural bridge" between the two cities through music.
