PalmPalma will experience the climax of the San Sebastián festivities this Sunday, January 25th, with the correfoc, one of the most anticipated events of the program, which will bring to a close several days of intense and participatory celebrations. The day begins in the morning with family activities. From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Les Voltes and Porta del Mar will host a workshop on building and launching stars, an activity designed for all ages that also includes a popular flight to Parc del Mar. As evening falls, fire will take center stage. Starting at 7:00 PM, Plaza de la Reina will be the setting for the lighting of the fire beasts and the simultaneous appearance of the demons, who will begin their procession through the city center.

In this first section, the Dragon and the Guardians of Sant Jordi, Realmente Quemados, S'Oliba de la Real, Es Drac de na Coca, and Ses Germanies will participate. The correfoc will continue along the Riera bridge and the Passeig del Born and Jaume III, with the participation of groups such as Enfocats, Trabucats, Es Cau des Boc Negre, Encabridades, Kinfumfà, Incubus, and Isla Galera.

  • Safety recommendations for enjoying the correfoc The Palma City Council reminds everyone that the correfoc is a major popular festival, but that safety is key to enjoying it safely. Therefore, the following recommendations are made to all attendees: Wear cotton clothing, long sleeves, long trousers, closed shoes, and cover your head with a scarf or hat.
  • Protect your eyes with goggles and use earplugs.
  • It is forbidden to use private fireworks or to handle pyrotechnic devices.
  • Do not throw water or smoke near pyrotechnic materials.
  • Prevent children and people with reduced mobility from standing in the front row.

Authorities urge everyone to follow the instructions of the organizers and security services at all times to ensure the festival proceeds smoothly. With this grand event, Palma will bid farewell to its patron saint's festivities with a night filled with fire, music, and tradition, transforming the streets into a space for collective celebration and reaffirming the correfoc (fire run) as one of San Sebastián's most deeply rooted symbols.
