PalmaVilafranca de Bonany will once again be a meeting point for children's and youth theatre from October 21st to 25th. The 24th edition of the Balearic Islands Children's and Youth Theatre Fair (Fiet) will bring together 45 companies from the Islands, from various territories of the State, and from countries such as France, Denmark, and Brazil. The programme includes nearly fifty activities and thirty premieres: 4 absolute, 3 in the State, and 23 in the Balearic Islands, as reported by the organisers this Monday.
Among the proposals that the public will be able to discover for the first time are Sense haver existit tu, by the company El Agave; Sembrar, by Moviments; Niu, by Soler & Florit, and the family opera Museu enCantat, by Diabulus in Musica. The four absolute premieres are part of an offer that combines theatre, music, and proposals for the family audience.
The international presence will also allow for the viewing of shows that have not yet been performed in the State, such as I can fly, by the Danish company Limfjordsteatret, and Nubes, by the Brazilian Artefactos Bascos. In addition, Fiet will host the first performances in the Balearic Islands of the latest works by companies from Catalonia, Aragon, Andalusia, Galicia, and the Basque Country, among other territories.
A dozen and a half shows from the Islands
Balearic creation will have a prominent weight in this edition, with fifteen shows on the bill, many of which have been premiered recently. The fair will thus offer an opportunity to get to know the latest works from the Islands' scene and bring them into contact with the public.
The program combines emerging companies, such as La Portera, Raigambre Teatre and Kankarro, with well-established groups. Among the companies with more experience, the public will be able to see the new proposals from La Tal, L’Horta Teatre and Festuc Teatre.
Music will also be part of the five days of the fair, with performances by Xaranga Myotragus, Aires Vilafranquins and Ànimos Parrec.
Culture beyond Palma
The director of Fiet and president of Sa Xerxa, Jaume Gomila, has announced that this edition will once again offer a fair full of performances for the public to enjoy. Gomila has defended that everyone will be able to find a proposal they like and has pointed out that the organization will adapt, once again, to the circumstances.
