PalmThere are concerts that, due to the location, the moment, and the meaning, become something very special. Those held atop the mountain overlooking Porreres, with its serene and magnetic beauty, are a good example. And on August 9, Joan Martorell, one of the great Mallorcan musicians of today, will play at home. Doing so in his hometown gives it added value.

This SonsDeNit 2025 event will also be the premiere of his new album. After the Storm, which arrives just twenty years after his first albumCapturing a sighThe concert will offer a preliminary immersion into this new sound universe, made up of short stories and musical journeys inspired by personal experiences, life stages, and a career that has combined music for theater, dance, and audiovisuals with an always active and personal creative path.

At the Sanctuary of Monti-Sion, Martorell's piano will be combined with organic textures—strings, guitar, double bass—and electronic elements to create an intimate and emotional atmosphere of great evocative power. He will be accompanied by Carlota Coll and Marga Navarro on violins, Bea Torres on viola, and Paula Martos on cello, forming the string quartet, as well as Guillem Fullana on guitar, Felip Sánchez on electric bass, Joan Taberner on lute and percussion, and Jaume Julià on flute and percussion.

An evening that promises to be unforgettable, worthy of a career that combines sensitivity, rigor, and roots.
