PalmThe FOLC (Linguistic and Cultural Training Plan) open exams are part of a program by the Department of Education and Universities that aims to train teaching staff to teach in and about Catalan in non-university education. The plan includes courses and exams to obtain language proficiency certificates and offers pedagogical training for practicing teachers, with the goal of strengthening their professional skills and ensuring quality teaching in Catalan. In the November session, a total of 63 people passed the FOLC open exams. This new session had 131 registered participants, of whom 63% passed the exams. Previously, there was only one session per year, usually in March, which made it difficult for participants to obtain FOLC accreditation in time to apply for teaching positions. The new session has allowed for better distribution of deadlines and offers more flexibility for interested teachers.

This test was made possible thanks to a collaboration agreement between the Regional Ministry and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), with an additional contribution of €15,000 compared to the previous agreement, which facilitated the organization and delivery of the tests. The next session of the FOLC open exams will take place, as usual, in March.
